Harajuku

Harajuku is a famous district in Tokyo, Japan. Presently, Harajuku represents more than a name; it is a trend, a culture, and a concept. Since then, it is well known for providing avant-garde styles and trends.

Harajuku fashion style has different types. Harajuku style is evolved and combined with various styles together. This kind of fashion never stops.

Lolita

Lolita is known as the Harajuku Kawaii "cuteness" Fashion which features girls wearing Victorian era inspired clothes. Girls that are into Lolita style wear cupcake-layered skirts, knee high stockings, and a corset. The concept of Lolita is not about being cute in the male’s perspective, but to encourage girls to stay true and be “kawaii” from other girls’ perspectives.

The Punk-Rock style outfitters usually wear leather apparels, have piercings in their body, and have chains, zippers, and studs as accessories. Dark colors and plaid designs can be seen in these kind of style.

Gyaru

Gyaru “gal” represents a manifestly childish and girly image. Usually girls with Gyaru style have their hair dyed or bleached with garish and brash makeup.

Ganguro

Ganguro “black face" style that brings Gyaru to another level of self-expression. Girls with Ganguro style have an artificial tan, hair dyed in bright colors with a dramatic black eye line, white eye shadow and false eyelashes.

Yamanba

Yamanba is the extreme version of Ganguro. Girls in Yamanba style usually have darker tanned skin than Ganguro girls do with even more radical and exaggerated makeup and hair. The usual hair colors in this style are bright and neon colors.

  1. Please see notes on formatting of entries found in Entry 1 by Robyn.

To tackle something such as Harajuku would mean pictures and images that relate to it. But there is none in this post. How can the readers picture in their mind what is being described or make mental connections if the concept of Harajuku is new to them. Therefore, pictures and images will be highly essential.

Paragraph 1: Innovative instead of 'innovation culture'
Paragraph 2: What is the intention of that paragraph? It is not clear. Tendency to have repetitive ideas.
'Harajuku style is evolved and combined with various styles together.' -- Harajuku style has evolved and has been combined with various styles such as ______'
Punk: 'these kind of style.' changed to in this kind of style
Last paragraph: 'and other more countries.' Please improve the closing sentence.

What are the enumerations? Are those types of fashion categories or themes? How do you label those?

Please improve on title too. Make it more subject-specific like Top ___ Harajuku Styles in ____ or something that will be more specific than simply saying Harajuku bec. looking at the title may seem like the entry is on defining what Harajuku is.

And please, important to have photos to showcase each fashion style.
